Ahmed Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi State, has sworn to find and punish those responsible for the murders in the Agojeju-Odo hamlet, which is located in the Omala Local Government Area.

Through his Special Adviser on Media, Isah Ismaila, the governor informed journalists in Lokoja on Saturday that he was shocked and sympathized with the families of those who had lost loved ones and property.

Security forces are hot on the trail of the assailants whose senseless cowardice led to the devastation of lives and property in the area, and Governor Ododo promised that they would bring those responsible for the horrific crime to justice.

Governor Ododo expressed sadness for the nasty turn the ethnic skirmishes in the area had taken over the years, but he also pledged swift action from his administration to prevent a repeat of the tragedy.

In addition, Governor Ododo said that the state will augment the current security architecture in the Omala local government area by deploying a detachment of the newly formed Metropolitan Quick Response.

After expressing his condolences to the families of the victims, the governor said that the government will help the wounded and those whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the disaster.
