Paul Merson criticizes two Arsenal stars following their 2-0 loss to Villa, calling it “lazy.”

After Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, former attacker Paul Merson had harsh words for Ben White and Kai Havertz.

At the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, Villa defeated Arsenal 2-0.

A victory would put the north London club back atop the league, and they knew it.

But it didn’t matter because Aston Villa took the lead in the 84th minute when Lucas Digne scored from a cross.

In the 87th minute, they took a two-goal lead thanks to Ollie Watkins, who raced inside his own half and chipped the ball over David Raya.

Havertz was scolded by Merson for letting in the opening goal, which came from a cross by Digne.

Additionally, he scolded White for avoiding a tackle earlier in halftime.

On Sky Sports, he proclaimed, “You must put an end to that cross!” Ben White once came off the field after leaping out of a tackle.

“You must put an end to these. There aren’t many opportunities to win the league, so you need to seize this one while you can.

As a defender, Ben White is bursting out of a tackle. This is a rare opportunity. When you get home tonight, you could assume that’s all.

I don’t feel it anymore. After 32 games of hard work, you finally managed to go the additional yard to prevent that cross. A slacker.
