Alex Iwobi has tied Nwankwo Kanu for the most Premier League assists by a Nigerian player.

Iwobi set up Andreas Pereira, a Brazilian midfielder, for Fulham’s second goal in Sunday’s 2-0 win at the London Stadium.

This was his 29th Premier League assist, matching Kanu’s total from his playing days.

The 27-year-old has played in the past for Everton and Arsenal.

After spending the summer with Everton, the adaptable midfielder joined Fulham.

This season, Iwobi has played in 25 games for the Whites, scoring five goals.

You may remember that after playing in last weekend’s Premier League match against Newcastle United, he also played more minutes than any other Nigerian player in league history.

John Mikel Obi, a former Chelsea midfielder, held the record before.
