Man Utd have a chance to join the Champions League if they come in sixth

Even if they finish sixth next season, Manchester United might still qualify for the Champions League.

This is because of a regulation modification by UEFA, as reported by talkSPORT.

United would qualify for the Champions League if they finished sixth, provided West Ham won the Europa League and finished fifth.

Currently, eleven points separate fourth-place Tottenham and fifth-place Aston Villa from Manchester United.

With seven games remaining in the season, United’s hopes of finishing in the top four are dwindling after they went winless in their past three league games.

This doesn’t rule out the possibility that Erik ten Hag’s squad pulls off a miraculous Champions League qualification.

Two leagues will gain an extra spot in Europe’s elite club competition next year as a result of the extension of the competition, and England is certain to secure one of those spots.
