Adewale Adeniyi, the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) Comptroller General, has declared that the sale of confiscated food goods will begin to combat the widespread problem of hunger in Nigeria.
During a House of Representatives sectoral debate, Adeniyi made the revelation while Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, was also present.
He brought up the fact that President Bola Tinubu had directed the distribution to vulnerable Nigerians of food goods manufactured in the country and confiscated at its land boundaries.
The national hunger problem is the target of the program.
